DAY 37 | Buying Used or Digital Books

I don’t buy books often. I’m a cheapstake and use the library religiously. But there are times when you want to own a book.

For one, I love Sleeping Naked is Green by Vanessa Farquharson. I read it every two years. But I move around all over the place, so most of my library books are digital. All of my libraries that I have been a part of over the years don’t have Green as a Thistle as an ebook.

So I bought the physical book. I got it used on eBay to save paper. That’s one example. Another one is Dr. Michael Greger’s How Not to Die. A huge textbook.

I bought the ebook version. Even though I don’t have a book for him to sign when I see him, I still value the digital version and it’s ability to search the book quickly for reference.

So that’s my change. Always buy used or digital. I can’t wait for Dr. Greger’s new book, How Not to Diet. I pre-ordered it, digitally, of course.
