Restarting Exercise

Since forming my exercise group last June, I have lost 35 pounds. We started off strong, as most beginnings do. It was summer, our schedules were perfect and in sync and the weather was so great.

Then, things started happening. I graduated and started working, school for my friend and sister started back up and our schedules fell out of sync. We still kept going, but more individually. We just didn’t have a set time frame where we would work out together anymore.

Around my birthday in February, I slowly stopped exercising. It was winter, and I couldn’t bike to work anymore. My sister and I started going to the gym, but it was only two days a week. It wasn’t the same amount I was getting last summer. And, I miss it.

I’ve been reading a lot lately, and I’m currently reading Better Than Before by Gretchen Rubin. It’s about making and keeping habits. One of the points is that if you want to start a habit, then you have to start now. Because, tomorrow will never come. You only have today. So, I have decided that I’m going to exercise everyday.

I started on Saturday by doing a Zombies Run! mission. And, I went and and did another one Sunday. I have planned the whole week out, and I am sticking to it. No excuses!

I’m feeling better already even though it’s day 5. I’m excited to get back on track, and I’m going to try to strengthen my group up because it’s more fun with friends.
