My husband and I usually have a good system. We have two large bins in our car. Whenever we go shopping, we check out, skip the grocery bags, take our cart to the car and place the items in the bins. When we get home, we take the bins inside.
Very easy. Very green.
But, sometimes we trip up. We forget the bins. The cashier starts bagging our items before we get a chance to say, “no thank you.” Then we have plastic bags.
And I hate it every time.
Today’s change is to improve this. For now on, I will refuse plastic bags at all costs. My mother gave us two of her reusable bags and now we are all set to say, “NO!”
Now we have our bin system and bags for lighter loads when we are out and about.
