DAY 3 | Getting Others on Board

Setting up the recycling center went well. I have 5 bins:

  1. Paper / Cardboard
  2. Aluminum
  3. Plastic
  4. Grocery bags
  5. Glass jars and egg cartons

My next step was teaching my family how to use them. I thought it would be difficult, but they are pros. The children actually have something interesting to focus on, so they’re not my biggest worry.

My worry comes from the convenience factor. The best spot to put the recycling center would be in the kitchen. More trash would be recycled if the bins were right in the kitchen instead of forcing the family to walk outside. Why would you walk all the way outside when the trashcan is right there?

But there’s no space to put them. The place I would put them is filled with bikes. I’m thinking of a better solution for the bikes, so I can move the recycling center in the kitchen.

But for now, I’m trying to get all the family on board!
