I’m breaking up different categories of food into their own segments. Today is LEGUMES!!
Legumes are another large part of my diet. I buy a lot of dry beans to save money. Zero-waste wise, you can switch to canned beans since the cans are easier to recycle.
However, I still want to save my money!! My approach here is the same as grains. I will be buying the biggest sized bags of beans I can find.
Buying grains in bulk will reduce the amount of plastic since the plastic in a 25-pound bag is less than the plastic in 25 1-pound bags.
This is how the store’s bulk bins are filled up anyway — larger bags that are usually plastic.
